Leadership
Merced Alumni Association is comprised of graduated Leadership
Merced participants. The Leadership Merced Alumni Association
has two primary roles.
The first role is to provide graduates an avenue to channel
the momentum of excitement and desire for community awareness
that is gained through the Leadership Merced program. The commitment
sounds large, but by the end of the program year graduates have
created great new friendships, become well networked in the
community, and increased their knowledge and appreciation for
what it takes to govern communities. Since Leadership Merced
opened its first class in 1984, there have been over 400 participants
who continue to serve the community in meaningful and effective
ways.
The second role is to provide support for the growth and continuation
of the Leadership Merced program. Through donations from the
Leadership Merced Alumni Association Members we will be able
to offer scholarships to qualified candidates, help pay for
additional programs and assist in promoting the Leadership Merced
program. The Leadership Merced Alumni Association also plans
setting up an annual retreat for alumni to help rekindle the
excitement originally gained through the Leadership Merced program.
As Alumni it is our responsibility to make sure that the Leadership
Merced program continues strong for years to come.
The object of Leadership Merced Alumni Association is to inspire
participants to become effective change agents in their communities,
as well as providing continued networking opportunities to become
new community leaders.
